Some of the most unsuitable vehicles in the world will be making it to the kickoff of the Mongol Rally today, but will our car called 'Smee' (Captain Hooks Sidekick) make it the whole way? Representing Team Grown this year are the 'scallywags' made up of Belinda Nichols of New Zealand, Tom Archer and James Clarke from the UK.
Starting in Goodwood, UK, team GROWN will drive through 18 countries and finally end up in Ulaanbaatar Mongolia on Aug 24th and at the heart of the adventure is a good cause. The official Mongol Rally charity is the Lotus Children's Centre Charitable Trust. They work with vulnerable children and families to provide the basic human rights of shelter, food and education. 'Smee' will be also be auctioned off at the end of the rally to help support the centre further. If you want to make a donation, click here.
TEAM GROWN will be updating us all over the coming week .. stay tuned! Adventure will be had.
